What is Centigrade?
Centigrade is an online resource that helps you make the right decision about higher education. It accesses the full UCAS database for the UK to give you instant feedback on which courses would suit you best. Use it on your desktop, mobile or tablet.
How can Centigrade help me?
Centigrade is designed to be used either in your first or second year at sixth form — as soon as you're ready to start planning your next steps.
With thousands of courses on offer in the UK, choosing the right one can be daunting. Centigrade helps you work out which courses suit your interests, abilities and qualifications.
Studies have shown that students who do the most research into Higher Education are the most likely to complete their course.
How does it work?
Centigrade asks you:
- 150 questions about what you do and don't like
- What stage you’re at with your current academic studies
- Which courses you're taking now or planning to take in the future
When you've answered all the questions, you'll receive instant feedback on courses – both single and combined – that are likely to be of greatest interest. It may challenge your existing ideas and will also point you towards courses you may not have considered.
How long does it take?
The entire process should only take around 30 minutes, and will save you an enormous amount of time and effort later on. You can start the questionnaire, pause it and finish it later.
What if I get exam results I didn't expect?
Centigrade is flexible, so once you get your results you can update your grades. This means if you're going through clearing, Centigrade will give you an updated set of courses based on your exam results.
Centigrade also lets you see in advance what your options are if you do better than expected. Similarly you can see what your options might be if you don't do as well as expected.
What if I want to study outside the UK?
We currently include courses in Ireland and are adding courses in Canada, Australia and New Zealand to Centigrade, along with English-taught courses across Europe. Sign up to our newsletter or check back here for release dates.
What does it cost?
Centigrade costs £15 per user.
How long can I use it for?
Your licence lasts for ever, so while you can't go back and change your answers to the questions, you can update your qualifications indefinitely and will always have access to the latest UCAS database.
